Welcome to the BIGVIZ, a visual depiction of the big ideas presented at TED2008. From February 27th to March 1st, 2008 over 50 leaders in technology, entertainment and design shared their ideas, passion and brilliance to an audi- ence of 1600 in Monterey, California, and Aspen, Colorado. This e-book strives to capture the spirit of the mainstage presentations by repre- senting the presenters’ ideas in the form of loose sketches, concept maps and visualizations. Our intent is to provide a rich graphic record of TED. For those fortunate to at- tend this year’s conference, the BIGVIZ will hopefully remind you of the central concepts, big ideas, as well as the little ones. Our graphic representations are idiosyncratic, expressive, rather than objective.
