ASP-Lösungen werden in der Wirtschaft zunehmend eingesetzt, sind aber im schulischen Bereich noch nicht erprobt. Im Rahmen der e-nitiative.nrw werden zusammen mit entsprechenden Anbietern derzeit Modelle für die schulische Anwendung erarbeitet.

For schools, the ASP concept is currently no serious alternative to regular PC client/server or thin clien/server architectures. Ist flexibility is too low in regard to the range of software, which is important for schools. And the costs tor dedicated lines are too high. Caused by the rapid progress in the IT services sector and dropping prices on the telecommunications market (meaning sinking costs for dedicated lines) the ASP concept could become an alternative.
