Definitionen
Parsons problems are program puzzles, where students piece together code fragments to construct a program. Similar to block-based programming environments, Parsons problems eliminate the need to learn syntax.
Von Rui Zhi, Min Chi, Tiffany Barnes, Thomas W. Price im Konferenz-Band ICER 2019 im Text Evaluating the Effectiveness of Parsons Problems for Block-based Programming (2019) Bemerkungen
Parsons problems dramatically reduce the programming solution space, letting students focus on solving the problem rather than having to solve the combined problem of devising a solution, searching for needed components, and composing them together.
Von Rui Zhi, Min Chi, Tiffany Barnes, Thomas W. Price im Konferenz-Band ICER 2019 im Text Evaluating the Effectiveness of Parsons Problems for Block-based Programming (2019) Parsons problems are easier and more reliable to mark than code writing, provide an opportunity to test student misconceptions more specifically than code writing, yet they appear to require the same set of skills (as analyzed by correlation in marks achieved). This makes them an excellent alternative to traditional code writing questions, and we encourage others to use these kinds of questions in their exams and to explore the potential of Parsons problems further.
