Contemporary musical education often suffers. Inadequate classrooms, outdated musical instruments
and the fact that there are rarely enough time to pursuit individual musical creativity stands in the way
of valuable and effective musical education.
Based on a case study on children’s learning potential in music classes, this paper will look at how the
computer can function as a learning tool in musical education, and how it can be used to establish a
new understanding of the possibilities within the learning environment.
Special attention will be given the use of computers and programs as a learning resource, and how it
can provide space for the individual learner to engage into a creative activity.
