A journey through 1:1 computing and the Tablet PC explained through the experiences of Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School. Villa Duchesne/Oak Hill School is a JK12 independent, Catholic, private school located west of St. Louis, Missouri. Villa Duchesne is an all female college preparatory school for grades 712. Oak Hill School is our JK6 counterpart. Since the topic of penbased computing appears to be of high interest to many outside our community, the agenda will focus on a testimony of the pedagogy and methodology of using the Tablet in 1:1 computing, as well as how the School came to the decision (the driving forces), preparations for implementation, things learned, expansion plans, and results to date. Particular topics discussed will cover teacher development, preparation of the school’s facility, and model examples of use in several content areas. This IS about the students, teachers, impact, and growth using the Tablet PC.
